Cooked Corned Beef brisket with cabbage, carrots and potatoes.
Preparation
Place the pickling spices in a spice bag or cloth bag and set aside. Rinse the brisket to remove any excess salt. Drain the water from the pot and then add one tablespoon of pickling spices, two quarts of water and the brisket. Bring to a boil then lower heat and simmer for four hours or until the meat is tender.
